A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Punta Gorda, Florida, authorizing the annual submission of a grant application to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Clean Vessel Act for the operation, maintenance and repair of the Laishley Park Municipal Marina pumpout vessel; authorizing the City Manager to sign the applications and administer the grants on behalf of the City; and providing an effective date.

The City has received new grant funds from the Florida Department of Environmental Regulation.  An estimated award was budgeted in FY 2019 of $7,000 from the Clean Vessel Act for the pumpout boat operations.  Appropriation of $13,006 is requested to bring full award amount of $20,006 in the grant revenue account 450-0000-331-4906; and appropriation of $13,006 in expenditure accounts 450-0946-575-3487 and 450-0946-575-4633 for pumpout labor and operations. Any unused funds from both the revenue and expenditures will be reappropriated to FY 2020 as grant period is through April 2020. 

The City has received funding from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in the amount of $15,006.00 for the pumpout boat operations.  Currently, the City's match ($5,000.00) is under grant review by Charlotte County's Marine Advisory Committee.  The Committee has funded the City's match for the last five years and staff does not anticipate any deviations.
