Grant Request $500,000

City Council approval for staff to apply for FY 2019/2020 Boater Revolving Fund grant assistance for Buckley's Pass in the amount $500,000 and authorization for the City Manager to execute documents and administer the grant.

Effective December 10, 2018, applicants may apply to the Charlotte County Marine Advisory Committee (MAC) for grant assistance from the Boater Revolving Fund revenues collected from boat registration fees, and from the West Coast Inland Navigation District (WCIND) revenues collected from property tax assessments. City Council has expressed a desire to request $500,000 towards the estimated $1.5 to $2 million cost for Buckley’s Pass. The application deadline is January 31, 2019, and if awarded funds would become available as of October 1, 2019.
