Staff has received a request from Learn to Sail, Inc. to allow two 10'x5' temporary floating docks at the Bayfront Center boat launch area. The floating platforms would be installed in the water for use during the 10-week summer camp and then stored near the boats when not in use. The Florida Department of Protection has indicated to the organization that no permit is required for the temporary floating docks less than 1,000 square feet; however, a "Verification of No Permit Necessary" application must be filed. The City must be a co-applicant on the FDEP application in order to install temporary portable floating docks at the Bayfront Center.
