City Council discussion and direction.

The proposed ordinance establishes regulations for the usage of public day docks at Gilchrist Landing and Laishley Park Marina to ensure that the docks are utilized by the general public for their intended purpose.  The 3/21/18 public hearing/first reading was continued by City Council to allow for further discussion related to the proposed prohibition of overnight docking.  One alternative would be to address the day docks separately, for example:

Laishley Park - dock to remain available on a first come, first served  basis with a time limit on usage (i.e. 3 hours or between 1-5 a.m.)

Gilchrist Landingreserve an area of the docks for loading & unloading at all times; allow remainder of the dock to be used on a first come, first served basis for watercraft under a certain length (i.e. 11 feet) and for a defined timeframe deemed reasonable by City Council
