Title:

Award of Agreement for Burnt Store Isles (BSI) and Harborwalk Seawall Replacements to Marine Contracting Group of Punta Gorda, FL.

Funds:

BSI Funds $852,283 – based on the assumption of 75% FEMA Funding, 12.5% State Funding and the balance from City financing

 

Appropriation of $ 852,283 to expenditure account 104-3000-549-6380 Project Code IRMDB4

Appropriation of $639,213 to revenue source account 104-0000-331-5100 Federal Disaster Relief

Appropriation of $ 106,535 to revenue source account 104-0000-334-5105 State Disaster Relief

Appropriation of $ 106,535 to revenue source account 104-0000-384-3000 Financing  (Financing will not be used and will be replaced with use of FY 2018 budgeted seawall replacement funds if that budget is not used by 9/30/18)

 

 

Harborwalk Funds $155,730  –  based on the assumption of 75% FEMA Funding, 12.5% State Funding and the balance from City financing

Appropriation of $19,466 to expenditure account 118-0000-581-9113  Transfer to Special Use Fund from Undesignated Projects
Recommended Action:

Staff recommends the following actions from Council:

  1. Approve the appropriation of funds; and
  2. Award of this Agreement to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder Marine Contracting Group of Punta Gorda, FL
Summary:

Procurement issued an Invitation to Bid for seawall replacement in BSI and Harborwalk.  The solicitation document identified three work zones:  two in BSI and one  on the Harborwalk.

The Contractor is required to complete all three zones within an 18 month period, but will not be required to work on each zone concurrently.  Marine Contracting Group proposes to complete all three zones in a 15 month period. The order of work is 1) Harborwalk; 2) BSI-North; and 3) BSI-South.

 

Solicitation notices were sent to 132 vendors, 22 viewed the solicitation on-line and the City received 2 responses.

 

The actual expenditure for this contract will be the actual total work in place. The quantities established in the solicitation were based on estimates reported by Canal Maintenance.
